FAQ
Is this the same battery as the 6-EVF-50 in my mower?
It’s a Leoch replacement for the 6-EVF-50 / 6-EVF-50B (Ryobi part 997233001). If you have a different Leoch number on your old battery, send us a photo of the label and we’ll confirm.
Is it 50Ah or 63Ah?
Both. It’s the same battery rated two ways. At a 3-hour discharge it’s 50Ah, which is the number in Ryobi’s manual and on 6-EVF-50 labels. At a 20-hour discharge it’s 63Ah, which is how the LDC12-63 label is rated. You aren’t getting a different capacity than your mower was built for.
Will it fit my Ryobi 30-in riding mower?
It fits the RY48130 and RY48131. Both use four 12V 6-EVF-50 batteries. The 38-in Ryobi riders (RY48110, RY48111, RY48112, RM480E) use larger 75Ah or 100Ah batteries, so this one won’t fit them. If your mower has a different model number, check the battery label or measure it and send us the numbers.
How long will these batteries last?
It depends mostly on how far you run them down. Leoch rates this battery for about 1,300 cycles when you use half its charge and about 700 cycles at 80%. If your yard is big enough that you mow until the mower quits, you’re draining them all the way, and in real use that can mean as few as 150 to 300 mows before they fade. To get the most life, stop before the battery is fully drained, recharge right after every use, and store the mower charged.
Can I replace just one battery?
Ryobi recommends replacing batteries with the same type and capacity. Mixing new and worn batteries in a series pack shortens the life of the new one, so replacing all four together works best.
How tight should the terminal bolts be?
Leoch’s spec is 34.5 to 47.8 in-lb (3.9 to 5.4 Nm) on the M6 bolts. Don’t overtighten.
